CSCF Projects


The Church Schools Children’s Fund is involved in several projects aimed at helping children realise their full potential.


Start @ Home
This particular project aimed to provide intensive literacy intervention to vulnerable students in their home environment.  It was targeted for five- to six-year-old students.  Eligible participants had to have literacy difficulties as well as a vulnerable support system. Read more

Sensitivity Training
Training for the PSCD and Guidance Teachers in both Primary and Secondary schools. Both PSCD and Guidance Department within the Secretariat for Catholic Education worked together with the Church Schools Children’s Fund to apply for the funds and coordinate the project. Read more


Matthew Project
The Matthew Effect refers to disadvantaged students who are probably more likely to struggle at school and in life and who continue do to so because of their poor life opportunities. This project is about stopping and breaking this cycle by providing scientifically based intervention that helps children to close the gap. Read more

SibShops
One of the services given by the Church Schools Children’s Fund is SIBSHINE where we deliver Sibshops to kids who have a sibling with a disability. During Sibshops, kids get to meet and interact with other siblings in a fun, relaxed manner, discuss the good parts (and not so good parts!) about having a sibling with a disability, and learn more about the services given to such persons. Parental Alienation Training
Schools and psychosocial professionals were facing an increased trend of children being victims of their parents’ high conflict separation and in some cases leading to parental alienation. Through the Matthew’s project CSCF provided an intensive professional training from the UK experts in the field. Read more
